Published on Purpose
Automatic disqualifiers
We publish these so nobody spends months on a process that can’t end well. Honesty is the one thing we can’t coach — an imperfect history explained honestly beats a clean story that isn’t true.
Any felony conviction
A felony conviction is an automatic disqualifier, without exception.
Recent illegal drug use
Any marijuana use within the past 1 year; any other illegal drug use within 5 years; and any illegal drug use while employed in law enforcement, corrections, or the military. Older use is evaluated honestly in context — dishonesty is the only unforgivable answer.
DUI history
A DUI conviction within the past 3 years, or more than one DUI ever.
Dishonorable discharge
A dishonorable discharge from military service is disqualifying.
Deception in the process
Deception at any point in hiring ends it. An imperfect history explained honestly beats a clean story that isn’t true. Honesty is the whole test.
